Description

Released by Taito in 1983, Elevator Action is an infiltration action game in which players take on the role of Agent 17 to steal secret documents from a high-rise building and make their escape. Players infiltrate from the roof and must navigate using elevators and escalators to reach a getaway vehicle at the bottom level. The game is celebrated for its original gimmicks, such as collecting documents from doors and using gunfire to trigger blackouts. It features a variety of techniques, including jump kicks and defeating enemies with elevator movements, while the increasingly sophisticated tactics of the enemies ensure that players remain engaged. Regarding this exhibit, unit #06530 is currently non-functional; however, it remains on display as a valuable historical record of arcade gaming, preserving its original design for posterity.

Story

As the spy "Agent 17," the player must infiltrate an enemy building to carry out a mission: obtaining top-secret documents. Entering from the roof, you must retrieve all of the classified files hidden behind red doors. By using the building's elevators and escalators to make your way down to the bottom, your ultimate goal is to reach the getaway vehicle waiting at ground level.
