Description

Released by Atari in 1986 (and distributed in Japan by Namco), Gauntlet is an iconic hack-and-slash masterpiece that carved its name into arcade history by introducing four-player cooperative play. Players choose from four distinct characters—Warrior, Valkyrie, Wizard, or Elf—and venture into the depths of a labyrinth. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons, you must fend off waves of enemies while collecting food and treasure to find the exit. The game demands a strategic approach to managing your limited health, but the true essence of Gauntlet lies in the persistent tension of being overwhelmed by endless swarms of monsters. Please note that the audio may not play during the attract mode of this exhibit unit; this is due to the original specifications and operating environment of the era. We appreciate your understanding.
