Description

Released by Namco in 1984, Gaplus is a fixed-screen shooter that evolved from the immensely popular Galaxian series with even more vibrant gameplay. This title expands the player’s movement to eight directions across the bottom of the screen and introduces a variety of new elements, such as the "Phalanx," which allows you to capture enemy ships to fight by your side, and the "Blaster Head," which upgrades your shots. With three enemy races that rotate every ten stages and unique challenging stages, there is plenty to experience—most notably the astonishing speed of the enemies in stage 31. Please note that the back-scrolling and high-speed scrolling behaviors under certain conditions are known technical limitations of the era's hardware, rather than intentional design choices.
