Description

Released by Nihon Bussan in 1985, Terra Cresta is a vertical-scrolling shooter that depicts the battle of the "Terra Cresta" organization, formed to reclaim a devastated Earth. Players pilot the Wing Galibur fighter, gathering parts throughout each stage to dock and upgrade the craft while defeating enemy formations that approach with tricky maneuvers. A major highlight of the game is the ability to transform into the "Phoenix" upon full assembly, granting temporary invincibility. Strategy is key, as players must effectively manage their limited supply of formation attacks using the two-button control scheme. Notably, the international version features a rich FM sound-synthesized soundtrack, offering a vibrant auditory experience distinct from the Japanese release.

Story

In the Space Age, the invasion of the space demon king Mandler and his army of giant beasts drove humanity to seek refuge on the ocean floor. To reclaim the shining sun and the green earth, humanity formed the Earth recapture organization "Terra Cresta." Brave warriors board the combat interceptor "Wing Galibur" and set off on a mission to defeat the space demon king Mandler and liberate the surface.
