Description

Released by Konami in 1982, Pooyan is a fixed-screen shooting game in which a mother pig fights from a gondola to rescue her piglets kidnapped by wolves. Players control the gondola, moving it up and down to shoot down wolves descending with balloons, all while aiming to bring their friends to safety. While the rules are straightforward, the game is a masterpiece of condensed, pure entertainment, featuring strategic elements such as the use of "meat" that appears at the top of the screen. Since allow too many wolves to escape results in defeat, deciding how to navigate and strike efficiently is the key to mastering the game.

Story

To rescue the children kidnapped by wolves, a mother pig named "Mama" climbs into a gondola and takes a stand armed with a bow and arrow. Mama maneuvers her gondola up and down, shooting down the wolves descending from the sky one after another using balloons. Her goal is to safely rescue the kidnapped children while overcoming various obstacles, such as wolves that throw rocks at her.
