Demon's World - Horror Story

First released in arcades in July 1989, this side-scrolling dark fantasy action game follows a quest to defeat the Demon King "Demon" and his minions after their sudden resurgence. The game features seven stages set across ruins, ghost towns, and castles, yet maintains an approachable, lighthearted atmosphere thanks to the characters' comical movements. Players use an eight-way joystick and two buttons to navigate, utilizing continuous jumps and five versatile weapons to overcome challenges. Notably, the characteristics of these weapons echo elements reminiscent of the company’s other title, *Hellfire*.

A peaceful village is suddenly attacked by monsters, and the villagers are turned into stone statues and abducted. Sensing the disturbance, two heroes embark on an adventure to defeat the Demon King and rescue the villagers. Set in the demon world, this is a side-scrolling action game where you must fend off approaching enemies using a mysterious power that transforms ammunition into weapons.
