Description

Released in April 1980, *Lupin III* is an arcade action game created by Taito with the official authorization of the original creator, Monkey Punch. Players take on the mission of transporting bags of cash to a hideout while dodging the pursuit of Inspector Zenigata and his police dogs. Gameplay requires nimble maneuvering and the strategic use of a "magic button" to warp across the screen. Featuring the iconic theme song and cameos by Fujiko Mine during level-clear scenes, the game is packed with charm for devoted fans. From its legendary hidden tricks that are still discussed today to the intentional design of its classic presentation, this title allows players to experience the genuine passion poured into its development.

Story

Players control Lupin III with the goal of collecting money bags scattered throughout a maze-like field and transporting them back to his hideout. You must recover the loot within a time limit while evading pursuers such as Inspector Zenigata, security guards, and dogs. The game features a unique system where your movement speed changes depending on the amount of money you are carrying. When you lose a life, there is an animation of Lupin being caught, making it a character-driven game that stays true to the source material—something rare for the time.
