Tiger Road

Released by Capcom in 1987, this side-scrolling action game is set in a war-torn version of China. Players take on the role of the martial artist Lee Wong as he ventures into the Dragon Temple to rescue kidnapped children. The game is controlled using an eight-way joystick and two buttons, with holding down the jump button allowing for a long jump. However, the game design leaves something to be desired regarding balance and strategic depth, as there are instances where players can succeed through brute force rather than careful planning. It remains a hallmark of the 1980s arcade scene, requiring two consecutive play-throughs to reach the true conclusion.

The world teeters on the brink of disaster as the Ryuken-oh, who seeks to conquer the realm, abducts the children of the villages. Lee Wong, a young martial artist from the Ourin-ji temple, sets out alone to infiltrate the enemy stronghold, Ryuga-do, to rescue the kidnapped children. Overcoming numerous obstacles and defeating his foes, Lee Wong strives to overthrow the Ryuken-oh and restore peace.
