Description

Released by Toaplan in 1993, BATSUGUN is a historic title that pioneered the "bullet hell" shooter genre. Despite the overwhelming number of projectiles filling the screen, the game features a meticulously tuned, small hitbox for the player's ship, masterfully creating the thrill of dodging dense patterns of fire. Furthermore, the introduction of a system where players gain experience points and upgrade their ship by defeating enemies balances technical skill with the satisfaction of character progression. As a monumental title that changed the history of the genre, it remains beloved by many gaming fans to this day.

Story

The Greydebaran Revolution Army used the "Epsilon Project" to seize all government bases, claiming many lives in the process. With government forces nearly exhausted, a special fighter plane currently under development was discovered at a hidden undersea base that had escaped the destruction. The government selected the elite Skull Hornet squadron from the remaining troops to launch a final operation to save the world. It is a battle for the fate of the world, carried out while intelligence is being leaked.
