Description

Released by Taito America in 1981, Qix is a landmark title that established the territory-capture genre. Players control a marker, avoiding enemies while enclosing areas of the screen to expand their territory, with the goal of filling at least 75% of the playfield. The game is characterized by strategic controls that require players to toggle between two movement speeds using a directional lever. It is also known for being the title used at Japan’s first-ever video game tournament, which was won by a student from the University of Tsukuba. Please note that in the service menu during startup, you can advance to the next page using the F1 key.
