Description

Released by Jaleco in 1986 for arcades, Argus is a vertically scrolling shooter inspired by the hundred-eyed giant of Greek mythology. Players pilot the excavated, unknown fighter "Vor-Arg" to confront a civilizational crisis and aim to defeat the ever-multiplying "Mega-Argus." Characterized by the beautiful graphics and ethereal sound design that stood out at the time, this game features 16 stages of extreme difficulty, where switching between anti-air and anti-ground weapons for each level is the key to strategy. As a note regarding the technical documentation of its original release, it has been confirmed that the game’s service mode test function includes a specification that causes an error display.

Story

In ancient times, Argus, the hundred-eyed giant of Greek mythology, has been resurrected in the modern age as "Mega-Argus." As Mega-Argus plots to dominate the Earth through endless self-replication, humanity launches the "Wal-Ag," the only weapon capable of opposing it. Can the Wal-Ag stop the growth of Mega-Argus and save the world?
