Dragon Breed

Released by Irem in July 1989 for arcades, this title is a side-scrolling shooter where players ride upon a massive dragon to engage in battle. Set in a kingdom transformed by the hands of an evil army, the story follows Kayus, the leader of his clan, as he partners with a legendary dragon to rescue a kidnapped princess and prevent the return of darkness. The game offers a unique experience, tasking players with freely controlling the dragon to block enemy attacks while pushing forward with powerful breath strikes. It should be noted that due to technical limitations of the original arcade hardware at the time of release, sample sounds are played back at a lower pitch than intended.

To rescue the princess abducted by an evil army, the player sets out on a journey, riding a legendary dragon. As the dragon rider Kayus, you must manipulate the giant dragon at will, defending against enemy attacks while unleashing powerful blasts of breath. With this, you will venture into a kingdom crawling with countless monsters and formidable bosses, engaging in fierce battles against the forces of evil.
