Description

Released by Namco in 1983, Mappy is a masterwork of comical action gaming in which a police mouse infiltrates the hideout of Nyamco, a gang of thieving cats, to recover stolen goods. Players navigate the mansion using a two-way lever; as there is no way to attack enemies directly, they must rely on tactical maneuvers like stunning foes with doors or using "power doors" to clear a path. While trampolines provide brief invincibility while mid-air, they require careful handling due to limits on consecutive use. Additionally, it has been noted that under certain conditions, the game exhibits technical quirks where microwave bonus points may fail to register, reflecting the original arcade hardware specifications.

Story

Players control Mappy, a police mouse, as he infiltrates the hideout of the Meowky cat burglar gang. Mappy’s goal is to recover all the stolen goods scattered throughout the hideout. Using trampolines placed around the mansion, players must collect all the items while avoiding the Meowkies.
