Battle Chopper

Released by Irem in December 1987, *Mr. Heli no Daibouken* (Mr. Heli's Great Adventure) is a side-scrolling shooter in which a heroic helicopter fights single-handedly to save a planet ruled by the mad scientist "Maddy." Despite its charming aesthetic, the game features a highly strategic design that requires players to adapt their attacks to specific situations and explore in all directions, achieving a level of meticulous game balance comparable to the company's masterpiece, *R-TYPE*. While the game occasionally exhibited screen display bugs under certain conditions in its original arcade environment, these quirks are now part of the memorable legacy that helped define the arcade scene of that era.
