Description

Released by Capcom in 1986, this isometric action-racing game is set in a desolate 21st-century wasteland. Players take on the role of a special forces operative tasked with driving the "Armor Transam," an armed vehicle, across a treacherous "death road" to rescue hostages kidnapped by the evil organization "Zapper." The game is defined by a unique control scheme featuring realistic inertia and a high-stakes system that requires the player to escape their vehicle once it has been destroyed. Notably, the original arcade version was known for the peculiar behavior of allies at the end of stages. Once the protagonist exits the vehicle, they are left highly vulnerable, turning every rescue attempt into a tense ordeal where even a moment of negligence can prove fatal.

Story

At the dawn of the 21st century, a group calling themselves "Zapper" emerged, terrorizing a peaceful town and committing countless atrocities. A member of a special forces unit, determined to rescue his kidnapped wife and child along with the townspeople, boards his beloved car, the "Armor Transam," and heads alone into enemy territory. A desperate rescue mission begins as he fights his way through the brutal death road toward the Zapper's stronghold.
