Released by Irem in July 1990 for arcades, this side-scrolling action game follows Gen—a fiery carpenter from Edo—as he takes a stand after losing his home and seeing his girlfriend kidnapped due to the conspiracies of the corrupt Kuroki Construction Company. Players utilize an eight-way joystick to control Gen’s signature wooden hammer and agile jumps, navigating through six stages ranging from the local shopping district to the Kuroki Group’s headquarters. The wicked construction company "Kuroki-gumi" destroys his home and kidnaps his girlfriend, Kanna. Enraged, Gen, an Edokko carpenter, stands up with his beloved wooden hammer in hand. With the help of the townspeople, he storms the Kuroki-gumi's construction sites and headquarters to challenge the corrupt business. A grand adventure to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend and restore peace to the town begins now.
