Description

Released by Data East in September 1984, *Tag Team Wrestling* (originally titled *Taisen Karate-do: Seishun Bijoljo-hen*) is an arcade game that refined the system of its predecessor, *Karate Champ*, by introducing a head-to-head two-player mode. The game follows the story of two rivals competing for the affection of a heroine and utilizes the same unique dual-lever control scheme as the original. The original arcade cabinets featured a specialized control panel equipped with four joysticks to accommodate competitive play. It is documented that, due to the technical specifications of the original hardware, sound would not play upon the initial credit insertion, and the background music would momentarily pause whenever voice lines were triggered.
