Kageki

Released by Kaneko for arcades in March 1988, Kageki is a fighting action game in which the objective is to defeat a rogues' gallery of eccentric villains. The game features a simple control scheme utilizing an eight-way joystick and left and right punch buttons, with the key to success lying in the tactical use of the "crouch" maneuver performed by pressing buttons simultaneously. As there is no score display, players are free to clear their minds and immerse themselves solely in the act of defeating their targets. Despite the comical character designs, the game offers a surprisingly fast-paced and fluid action experience. This exhibit is based on original arcade video footage.
